Thank you so much for choosing Grounded. Grounded provides natural solutions for cleaning and wellness. We value local sourcing, local value addition, and reducing toxic burdens on humans and the environment.

We believe in 100% ingredient transparency. If you have any questions or feedback about our products, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Quick reference — the practical bits

  • Delivery - Kenya: Next day (Monday–Saturday) in Nairobi  if your order is placed before 4pm the previous day. Orders in after that are processed the following day where possible. Deliveries outside of Nairobi are processed through our third party logistics provider and typically arrive 48-72 hours after ordering.

  • Location: Magana Light Industries Regen, Kikuyu, Kiambu (next to Greenspoon) — just outside Nairobi.

    • We accept walk in sales - Monday-Friday, 9am - 5pm

  • Payment: M-Pesa Buy Goods Till 650 363, card via Shopify Payments / Flutterwave / Pesapal, or bank transfer and cheque on request.

  • Bulk and reseller orders: Please allow a 1-week lead time. Contact us for pricing.

  • Returns: See Section 8.

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully. By accessing groundedafrica.com, placing an order, or creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are

This site is operated by Global Slacker Enterprises, Ltd (trading as “Grounded”), a company incorporated in Kenya.

References to “we”, “us”, or “our” mean Global Slacker Enterprises, Ltd. References to “you” mean the person accessing the site or placing an order. Our store is powered by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell to you.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to place an order. If you are under 18, you may only use the site under the supervision of a parent or guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms.

If you create an account you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You may not transfer, sell, assign, or licence your account.

3. Our products and descriptions

We take reasonable care to describe our products accurately — including ingredients, colours, materials, dimensions, and sustainability claims. Because many items are handmade or produced in small batches in Kenya, slight variation is part of what makes them genuine. Colours may differ slightly from how they appear on your screen. We do not warrant that product images are a perfect representation of the physical item.

We reserve the right to change product formulation, packaging, or look-and-feel at any time, to limit quantities, to refuse orders, to correct pricing errors, and to discontinue any product.

4. Orders and acceptance

Placing an order is an offer by you to purchase. We accept your order only when we send you an Order Confirmation email; until then, no contract exists between us. We must receive and process payment before an order is accepted.

We may decline or cancel an order, even after an Order Confirmation, if:

  • The item is out of stock or mispriced.
  • We cannot verify your payment or shipping details.
  • We reasonably suspect fraud or misuse.
  •  Fulfilment becomes unlawful or impractical.

If we cancel, we will refund any amount already paid using the original payment method. For bulk or reseller orders, please allow us a one-week lead time and contact us in advance for pricing.

5. Pricing, taxes, and currency

  • Prices on grounded.co.ke are listed in Kenya Shillings (KES) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable, unless stated otherwise.
  • International customers: prices may be displayed in a local currency for convenience; the billed amount is in KES or USD and your card or wallet provider sets the exchange rate. Any import duties or local taxes at the destination are your responsibility.
  • Prices, discounts, and promotions are subject to change without notice. The price charged is the price in effect at the time the order is placed and shown in your Order Confirmation email.
  • We may correct pricing errors before shipping. If a correction meaningfully changes the price, we will contact you before fulfilling the order.

6. Payment

We accept the following payment methods, processed by third parties:

  • M-Pesa via our Buy Goods Till 650 363 (processed through Safaricom, Paystack))
  • Card payments — Visa, Mastercard (via Paystackl)
  • Bank transfer and cheque on request

By paying, you authorise the processor to charge the full amount and confirm that you are the authorised holder of the payment method. Your payment details are handled by the processor on PCI-compliant infrastructure; we do not store full card numbers. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Shipping, delivery, and risk

  • Orders placed by 4pm on a business day (Monday–Friday) are typically delivered next day in Nairobi (Monday-Saturday). Orders placed later go out the following day. Upcountry and international timelines vary.
  • Delivery timelines shown at checkout are estimates only; we are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, customs, or events outside our control.
  • Title and risk in the goods pass to you when the items are handed to you or your nominated recipient. Please inspect your parcel on receipt and flag damage or short delivery within 48 hours.
  • Missed deliveries or incorrect addresses that result in return of goods may incur a re-delivery fee.

8. Returns, refunds, and exchanges 

8.1 All sales are final

Because our products are consumables made from natural ingredients, all sales are final. We do not accept change-of-mind returns, and we do not accept returns of items that have been opened, used, or tampered with. Please read product descriptions and ingredients carefully before ordering, and contact us with any questions first — we are happy to help you choose.

8.2 When we will accept a return

We will accept a return, and at our option repair, replace, or refund, only where the item is:

  • Damaged in transit (e.g. broken seal, leaking container, cracked bottle)

  • Faulty (e.g. mould, separation that will not re-emulsify, genuine product defect)

  • Incorrect — you received something different from what you ordered

Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the issue and a copy of your order number. We will arrange a free return and resolve the issue promptly. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2012 and Sale of Goods Act (Cap. 31) are unaffected by this policy.

8.3 What is not a fault

Made with natural ingredients. Variations in colour or scent may occur. Because our products are made from real plant- and mineral-based ingredients, each batch is slightly unique. The following are sensory characteristics of a natural product, not faults, and are not grounds for return or refund:

  • A shade that differs from a previous batch or from the product photo on the website.

  • A scent that is stronger, lighter, or slightly different from a previous purchase.

  • Natural settling, separation that re-mixes when shaken, or minor colour change over shelf life.

  • Texture or consistency variations that fall within the normal range for a natural formulation.

8.4 Non-returnable items (in any case)

  • Opened, used, or partially used products

  • Custom or personalised items made to your specification

  • Gift cards and digital vouchers

  • Sale or clearance items marked “final sale”

8.5 Refund timing

Where a refund is due, it is issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of us receiving and inspecting the return. Bank and M-Pesa clearing times are outside our control and may take a few additional days.

9. Warranties and disclaimers

Beyond the warranties implied by Kenyan law, we do not provide additional express warranties unless set out in a product listing. The Service and all products are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

10. Intellectual property

All content on grounded.co.ke — including logos, product photography, text, illustrations, designs, and product formulations — is owned by or licensed to Global Slacker Enterprises, Ltd. You may view and share content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, re-sell, scrape, or train AI models on our content without our prior written consent. “Grounded”, the Grounded wordmark, and associated designs are trademarks of the company. Shopify’s marks are the trademarks of Shopify.

11. User content and conduct

If you submit reviews, photos, comments, or other content (“User Content”), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable licence to display, reproduce, adapt, and promote that content in connection with our business. You confirm you have the right to grant that licence, that your content is truthful, and that you have disclosed any compensation or incentive received.

You agree not to:

  • Upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, or infringes a third party’s rights.
  • Use the site to distribute spam, malware, chain letters, or abusive content.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, reverse engineer our software, or disrupt the service.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or re-publish our content.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.

12. Third-party tools, links, and our relationship with Shopify

Third parties. The site uses third-party services to operate and improve. These include Shopify (hosting and commerce), Safaricom / Pesapal / Flutterwave (payments), couriers, Meta and Google (advertising and analytics), and Klaviyo (email marketing). Their terms and privacy policies apply to the data they handle. We are not responsible for the content of external sites we link to.

Our relationship with Shopify. Grounded is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. Any sales and purchases you make on our store are made directly with Grounded. By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of the sales between you and Grounded, including any injury, damage, or loss resulting from products or services purchased. You expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases and transactions with Grounded.

13. Marketing communications

If you sign up to our marketing list, we will only email, SMS, or WhatsApp you after you have confirmed your email (double opt-in). We use Klaviyo and Mailchimp, and Flowcart to send marketing. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every message or by replying STOP to an SMS. We will stop sending immediately. Transactional messages (order confirmations, shipping updates, and service notices) will continue because you need them to complete your order.

14. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud, personal injury caused by negligence, or statutory consumer rights under Kenyan law.

Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability to you in connection with any order is limited to the price you paid for the products in that order.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of data, loss of business opportunity, or replacement costs.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Global Slacker Enterprises, Ltd, Shopify, and our affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, licensors, and service providers from third-party claims, losses, or costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the site, breach of these Terms, or infringement of a third party’s rights by content you submit.

16. Force majeure

We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including strikes, pandemics, power or internet outages, government action, fire, flood, or courier failure. We will make reasonable efforts to mitigate and communicate delays.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. You and we agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at aroot@grounded.co.ke. If the dispute is unresolved within 30 days, it will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya, sitting in Nairobi.

For consumers outside Kenya: you retain the mandatory consumer protection rights available to you in your country of residence.

18. Termination

You may terminate these Terms at any time by ceasing to use the site or closing your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, and you will remain liable for amounts due up to the date of termination. Clauses that by their nature should survive — including Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Indemnity, Governing Law, and any outstanding payment obligations — will continue after termination.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always published at grounded.co.ke/terms-and-conditions with a “Last updated” date. Material changes will be flagged by email to account holders or through an on-site notice. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

20. General

  •  If any clause is held unenforceable, the remainder remains in force.

  • Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of that right.

  • These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us in relation to the site.

  • You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign without consent if the business is sold or restructured.

  • Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect the interpretation of the Terms.
