Get Grounded
Most conventional cleaners contain chemicals that are poorly tested for human safety and don't have to disclose their ingredients. Short-term exposure can cause skin irritation, coughing, and respiratory issues. Long-term exposure has been linked to hormone disruption, developmental problems, and cancer. They also run largely untreated into our ecosystems, harming wildlife and vegetation.
It means we only use verified, safe ingredients and we disclose 100% of them. We cross-reference every ingredient against the Environmental Working Group (EWG) and MADESAFE databases, which together ban over 6,500 harmful chemicals, tested for human and environmental safety.

Products, Ingredients & How to use
We disclose 100% of our ingredients, most of which are recognizable botanicals, minerals, and plant-based inputs. We focus on four key production processes, with soap being our passion. Our solid and liquid soaps are made through a traditional process called saponification, combining vegetable oils (coconut, sunflower, canola) with lye to create real soap and natural glycerin. Our key oils are sourced from Kenyan farms in Kwale, Nakuru, and Mt Kenya. We also produce natural disinfectants, pest control products, sulfate-free home and personal care products, and infused vinegars.
Because our products are made from natural ingredients, color and scent may vary slightly from batch to batch.
- Synthetic fragrances
- Artificial dyes
- Palm oil
- Parabens
- SLS / SLES (sulfates)
- Optical brighteners
- PEGs
We consider a 360 approach when choosing what not to use - though some ingredients may be biodegradable or safe for humans, we consider the sourcing, and manufacturing impacts of using these ingredients.
Yes, our plant-based formulas are gentle and free from the harsh chemicals that typically cause skin reactions. If you have extremely sensitive skin, we recommend patch testing new products first.
Please read all of our packaging and labeling for proper storage, and use.
We also have a dedicated line of fragrance-free products in our Sensitive Skin line.
We formulated our products with our furry friends in mind. That being said, some animals are sensitive to essential oils. The concentrations we use in our home care products is not harmful to pets. For our pet products - we recommend the unscented versions for cats, or dogs under 6 months of age.
